What is Zang?

The word 'Zang', in dutch, means singing. We are born singers. We were born singing. Equipped with a strong breath we were able to set our whole body in motion. We were able to shout and scream and make sweet baby sounds, totally enjoying ourselves. We never had any voice problems.

Feel the sound coming from the depths. The sound being transformed into pure tones connecting each other.

Dare to experience the space between the tones, to glide from one tone to the other, experience the journey from one sound to the other.

 

This all is carried by your breath. Your breath who directs the sound, who directs the concentration from deep down in the belly. The breath starting from this point enables the breast and throat to let the sounds pass freely. Sounds of clear trumpets, thundering lighting, or whispering spring wind.
Learn to experience the voice fully by this deep and broad breathing.

Carolina has developed in the past 16 years a way of teaching, to bring us back to this natural way of using our voice. She makes use of the Indian Classical Music scales and Hatha-yoga exercises, as well as meditation and concentration techniques taken from different other Eastern disciplines like Kendo (Japanese fencing), Tai-chi and Zen.

It appeared that amateurs as well as trained singers really enjoy this way of working with their voice.

It helps to make us free in expressing ourselves.
Hoarseness of voice, stammering, hyperventilation, being nervous to give speeches, just to name a few, are belonging to the past.

 

For trained singers as well as amateurs this can be a great way to become conscious of the musical vibration within our own body and learn to enjoy the music, first of all, for yourself.
